Baku. 17 March. REPORT.AZ/ Today Azerbaijan Investment Summit kicked off in Baku, Report informs.The main organizer of the event, the editor of "The Economist" magazine, John Andrews opened the event with a keynote speech.
Commenting on the latest developments in the world and in the region, John Andrews spoke about the prospects for the development of the non-oil sector.
Noting Azerbaijan not being shaken by the reduction in oil prices, Minister of Communications and High Technologies, Ali Abbasov informed about the work done in the field of information and communication: "Today, 93% of exports depends on oil and oil products. I think that we need to reduce this dependence. Our aim is to establish the economy that does not depend on oil. In this regard, we have been working on it for many years."
