The Public Internet network, commissioned by Baku Telephone Communication Production Association ("Baktelecom"), will also be active in some areas before the Islamic Solidarity Games on the initiative of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies (MTCHT).
Soon free "wi-fi" network will be available in the "White City" zone of the National Seaside Park, "Sahil Baghi" and the park of Heydar Aliyev Center. The above-mentioned areas have been equipped with appropriate equipment, taking into account security measures, as well as risks, the application of software in active areas has begun.
The scope of the project launched under the brand "Baku loves you" has been expanded and development work is under way. Thus, in the near future free "wi-fi" users will actively use the network with a new, more convenient registration system. Note that at present, it is possible to use the internet through portable devices such as mobile phones, laptops, tablets etc. by choosing "Baktelecom" from the network list and registering mobile number.
It is to be noted that some 100 thousand users made use of the free internet service in the areas of the Seaside National Park and Icheri Sheher Historical and Architectural Reserve, and this figure is expected to increase towards the summer season.
In order to serve more users, the number of installation points will be increased in the areas where the network is active. During the year, other parks will also be connected to the public Internet.
