Azerbaijan, Lithuania discuss inter-parliamentary ties

head of Azerbaijani-Lithuanian Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group Kamran Nabizade has met Head of the working group in Lithuanian Seimas with Azerbaijan Valerius Simulik.

Azerbaijan`s Ambassador Hasan Mammadzade was also present at the meeting.

Valerius Simulik praised developing relations between the two countries.

Mr. Nabizade spoke about similarities between Azerbaijan and Lithuania. They discussed bilateral inter-parliamentary ties, cooperation within the regional and international organizations, as well as the current state of the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Mr. Nabizade said 20 per cent of Azerbaijan`s territories were occupied by the Armenian Armed Forces. “UN Security Council has adopted 4 resolutions on immediate, unconditional withdrawal of Armenian Armed Forces from the occupied Azerbaijan`s lands. Armenia refuses to honor these resolutions,” he added.

Members of Lithuanian Parliament said they support Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
