Kazakhstan’s Samruk-Energo company plans to commission a wind farm near the country’s Yereimentau city in Q2 of 2015, the company told Trend.

The installed capacity of this wind farm will be 45 megawatt with the possibility of reaching 300 megawatt, according to Samruk-Energo.

Moreover, the company said that 21 of 22 wind turbines envisaged in the project have been installed on the wind field.

The work on constructing a power substation of 35/220 kilovolt and high voltage power transmission lines of 220 kilovolt has been completed and cable lines of 35 kilovolt have been laid, said Samruk-Energo, adding that preparations for launch operations are underway.

Furthermore, the company said that it is planned to start the work within the second stage of expanding the wind farm’s capacity by 50 megawatt in 2015. This project is envisaged in the loan agreement signed for this purpose with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the Clean Technology Fund.
