Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva and family members headed to the Al-Masjid al-Haram (the Grand Mosque), wearing special garments.
The sanctuary administration welcomed the head of state. The Azerbaijani president and his companies circumambulated around the Kaaba and performed prayer in the mosque.
They then paid a visit to the As-Safa and Al-Marwah hills. The president and his family members walked between the two hills 7 times.
President Ilham Aliyev, his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva and family members entered the Kaaba and performed prayer inside. Following the Umrah pilgrimage, the head of state viewed the Al-Masjid al-Haram. The president was thoroughly informed about the mosque.
