Baku-APA. The American health worker who contracted Ebola while volunteering in Sierra Leone has improved from fair to good condition, the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) said Tuesday, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
The worker, whose identity was not revealed, was transferred back for treatment at the NIH Clinical Center on March 13. At that time, the patient was in a serious condition and worsened to a critical condition days later.
No additional details were released about the patient.
The NIH Clinical Center has one of the few biocontainment units in the United Statesequipped to handle highly infectious diseases like Ebola. It has successfully treated one of the 10 Ebola patients receiving treatment in U.S. hospitals.
