“Relations between Azerbaijan and Italy stand at high level in the field of energy”, president of the Azerbaijan State Oil Company (SOCAR) Rovnag Abdullayev said in his interview to the special correspondent of AZERTAC.
Expressing satisfaction with the holding of "SOCAR Day" in Azerbaijani pavilion at the "Milan Expo 2015" exhibition, he said that, the visit of many people to Azerbaijani pavilion named "The treasure of biodiversity," shows the great interest to the country. Within the event, the European Championship ("Euro 2016") Cup, to be held in 2016, was presented to visitors. SOCAR is an official sponsor of all the competitions between national teams of Europe, including "UEFA-2016".
At the exhibition, speaking about "SOCAR Day", Abdullayev emphasized that, such events are very important in informing the European community about the successes of Azerbaijan achieved in the field of energy. He said that, Italy was the first trade partner of Azerbaijan. “A large number of Italian companies are operating in Azerbaijan and they are an active participant in important projects implemented in the country”, he stressed.
"Azerbaijan's importance for Italy was proven once again in September 2015, with the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation signed between SOCAR and Snam Company on evaluation of initiatives for development of South gas corridor, the president added.
