TAP project discussed in Italy (25 January 2017 18:46)

Chairman of the State Agency for Public Services and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Inam Karimov held a series of meetings in Rome on the sidelines of his visit to Italy.
Inam Karimov hailed the reforms carried out by the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to improve and modernize public administration in recent years as he met with Ms. Pia Marconi, head of the Italian Department of Public Administration under the Italian Prime Minister. He as well highlighted successful activities, structure
of "ASAN Xidmet" centers (ASAN Service) which are integral part of these reforms, and other measures carried out in the field of e-government in the country.
Ms. Marconi hailed "ASAN Xidmet" experience as a quite interesting and extraordinary one, gave information about the relevant Italian bodies.
Inam Karimov and Pia Marconi then signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation in the field of state services between the Italian Department of Public Administration under the Italian Prime Minister and State Agency for Public Services and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The meeting was attended by Azerbaijani Ambassador to Italy Vagif Sadigov.
Inam Karimov as part of his visit also visited the Link Campus University operating in Rome and met with its President, former Italian Minister of Interior and Foreign Affairs Vincenzo Scotti.
Mr. Scotti noted that "ASAN Xidmet" model aroused great interest in Italy.
Mr. Karimov highlighted the trainings and other projects organized and implemented by "ASAN Xidmet", including "ASAN volunteers" project.
The meeting then featured a film on the activities of "ASAN Xidmet" centers.
Link Campus University's professors, teaching staff, experts, diplomats and representatives of Italian public who show interest in Azerbaijan attended the event which went on with extensive discussions.
