Azerbaijan`s Embassy in People's Republic of China hosted a commemorative ceremony on the 12th anniversary of the death of national leader Heydar Aliyev.
The event was attended by Azerbaijanis working and studying in Beijing. Participants of the commemorative event laid flowers at the bust of the national leader.
Azerbaijani Ambassador to China Latif Qandilov highlighted the national leader`s life and efforts to establish and develop the Azerbaijani statehood. Touching upon the role of the national leader in modern Azerbaijani history, the Ambassador noted that thanks to the tireless activity and wise policy of Heydar Aliyev Azerbaijan's independence was preserved. Qandilov said the national leader`s policy is being successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev.
He also praised national leader Heydar Aliyev`s contribution to the strengthening of Azerbaijani-Chinese relations.
A documentary on national leader Heydar Aliyev`s life was screened at the event.
