“Developing relations with Azerbaijan is one of the key priorities of Iran's foreign policy,” said Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Jaber Ansari in his interview with AZERTAC. He said that lifting sanctions on Iran created a huge opportunity for broad cooperation, and taking this opportunity Iran would establish a mutually beneficial relationship with the neighboring countries.
"The high level of relations between Azerbaijan and Iran paves the way for further beneficial cooperation," he said.
Ansari noted that during the period of sanctions, Azerbaijani government did not break off the economic and trade relations with Iran. “So developing relationship with Azerbaijan is one of the key foreign policy priorities for us.”
He also providing an insight into the economic ties, saying that from January to November last year trade between the countries amounted to $ 110.6 million.
