The Embassy of India in Azerbaijan has hosted a reception on the country`s Republic Day.
The event started with the performance of the national anthems of Azerbaijan and India.
Addressing the event, Ambassador Sanjay Rana highlighted India`s achievements in various fields, and touched upon the relations between the two countries. He emphasized that India was one of the first countries to establish diplomatic relations with Azerbaijan after the country restored its independence. The diplomat noted that Azerbaijan-India relations will continue to develop.
On behalf of the Azerbaijani government, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Huseyngulu Baghirov congratulated the people of India on the occasion of the holiday. The Minister noted that relations between the two countries are developing rapidly for the prosperity of the two countries` peoples.
Baghirov said Azerbaijan attaches special importance to developing ties with India.
The event brought together Azerbaijan`s officials, MPs, ambassadors of foreign countries, as well as public figures.
