Azerbaijan makes a great contribution to ensuring economic security and trade facilitation. This country is the leader in the region in terms of the level of the customs service, said Mr. Kunio Mikuriya, Secretary General of the World Customs Organization (WCO), as he attended scientific-practical conference entitled "An economic security: trade facilitation and protection aspects" in Azerbaijan State Economic University (UNEC). The event was organized by UNEC and Azerbaijani State Customs Committee (SCC).
Addressing the event, Secretary General of the SCC spoke of application of information technologies in the customs authorities of Azerbaijan, as well as fight against drug trafficking, protection of cultural heritage and significant progress in other areas.
Mr. Kunio Mikuriya, appreciated these achievements, expressing his satisfaction with cooperation with the SCC.
