Moscow. Farid Akberov – APA. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Russian President Vladimir Putin have met in Baku.
APA reports quoting Kremlin’s press service that current situation of the bilateral, as well as economic relations have been discussed at the meeting.
Azerbaijani President congratulated Vladimir Putin and Russian People on Independence Day of Russia – June 12: “We highly appreciate your visit to Azerbaijan on the Independence Day of Russia, see it appearance of high level cooperation and friendship between our countries.
Indeed, the relations between our countries are developing positively and dynamically. We regularly meet in Moscow, Baku and other places. Our ministers also meet. Active dialogues on all directions are being held, inter-parliamentary relations strengthen, there are good results in the economic spheres. In spite of difficulties in the world economy, we also strengthen potential of mutual cooperation in this sphere. The humanitarian sphere was always a model in our relations.
In other word, the level of relations between our countries allow to cooperate actively, strengthen the cooperation and be optimist about the future”.
Putin congratulated Azerbaijani President on the opening ceremony of the first European Games held yesterday: “I must say the opening ceremony of the first European Games had been organized very talented and nicely worthy of a large-scale international sport event.
I share your assessment about character and level of the interstate relations. I want to note that in spite of existing problems in the economy, the trade turnover between our countries increases. It increased 12% in the first quarter of 2014, 6% in the first quarter of 2015. This means that Azerbaijani businessmen use our markets’ situation. We are pleased with this and interested in extension of the cooperation”.
