All countries should make efforts to achieve peace, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said April 24.
He made the remarks during the festive events that are being held in Turkey’s city of Canakkale.
The president said Turkey is ready to make every effort to make 2015 the year of peace and stability, TRT Haber TV channel reported.
Erdogan also thanked the heads of the countries who are taking part in the festive events in Turkey.
Turkey is today celebrating the centenary of the victory in the Battle of Canakkale.
The Battle of Canakkale, which took place during the World War I, killed over 500,000 people. The Turks lost 57,000 people in the battle, which also involved Azerbaijani soldiers.
