Baku – APA. Azerbaijani judokas Ramin Gurbanov and Elkhan Mammadov are through to the 1/8 finals.
Exempt from the first round, Ramin Gurbanov joined the tournament in the 1/16 finals, according to pasport.az.
R. Gurbanov (90kg) defeated his Portuguese opponent Celio Diasta, who also joined the tournament in this round. At the 70th second, Gurbanov used ippon, which qualified him for the next round. He will meet with Christian Tot (Hungary) in the 1/8 finals.
E. Mammadov (100kg) wrestled with Zlatko Kumrich (Croatia) in the 1/61 finals. The Azerbaijani athlete claimed an easy win over his opponent, with an ippon at the 145th second. He will take on Lucas Krpalek in the 1/8 finals.
