As of September 4, some 3.491 million metric tons of grain were gathered in Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan said Sept. 4.
The grain crops were generally gathered at a 2.928 million hectare area, which is 19.8 percent of the total area, the statement said.
The average yield was 11.9 centners per hectare.
For comparison, some 2.773 million metric tons of grain with an average yield of 10.4 quintals per hectare were gathered in Kazakhstan in the same period of last year.
The grain crops hit 14.962 million hectares in Kazakhstan in 2015. Some 15.298 million hectares of land were sown with cereals in 2014.
Some 17.162 million metric tons of grain and leguminous crops were gathered in Kazakhstan in 2014, which is 5.9 percent less than in 2013.
In 2015 the grain harvest is planned not to be less than in 2014, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Saparhan Omarov said earlier.
