Baku-APA. The Alliance of European Conservatives and Reformists (AECR) expressed its support to Azerbaijan in regards to the European Parliament’s non-legislative resolution on Azerbaijan, adopted last Thursday in Strasbourg.
The president of the AECR, third largest in the European Parliament (the number of deputies represented in it), Jean Zaharadil sent letter in this regard, to the candidate for membership in the organization, chairman of Unified Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (UPFPA) Gudrat Hasanguliyev.
Mr. Gudrat Hasanguliyev told APA that J. Zaharadil noted in his letter: “In my capacity as AECR president I believe that EU interventions in nation state matters should be very limited. With reference to the adopted resolution, i consider the European Parliament’s interference both inappropriate and counterproductive. Let me therefore inform you that the Czech delegation, the ODS party, has voted against this resolution. I regret its consequences that a resolution was adopted, as i do not consider it to be helpful in a way”.
J. Zaharadil expressed hope to further strengthening the partnership and cooperation between the AECR and United Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan.
UPFPA chairman said that he expressed gratitude for the fair position on Azerbaijan in reply to Mr. J Zaharadil.
