At the opening of the 3rd Global Forum, which is organized by the Nizami Ganjavi International Center and the State Committee on Work with Diaspora on Tuesday, the congratulatory letters of German Chancellor Angela Merkel, British Prime Minister David Cameron, former UN Secretary General Boutros Boutros-Ghali and former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger were read out.

Merkel’s letter says the world order is not as agile enough and Germany is trying to eliminate these problems.

Merkel also said she supports the Forum’s work.

Cameron’s letter says the Forum aims to create an atmosphere of trust throughout the world.

Boutros Boutros-Ghali’s letter, in which he noted his disease to be the reason of his absence at the Forum, says the strengthening of trust in the world is a manifestation of the restoration of human rights.

“Trust is especially important when instability is deep and conflicts are more. Extremist powers are on the rise. Therefore, the sharing of cultures and information is vital for constant development. That is also the basis of UNESCO-Azerbaijan cooperation. President Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Merhiban Aliyeva have contributed a lot to the development of intercultural dialogue. I am thankful to them,” says the letter.

Later on, Boutros Boutros-Ghali’s video message was displayed. In the video message, the former UN secretary general says the United Nations is an outdated organization.

“I believe Baku will become the center of ideas for the international community. New ideas, new conceptions emerge, and we must prepare ourselves for new societies. We live in old societies and if the state is the only body that takes actions. It has to be so,” he said.

Former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger says in his letter that he believes the Forum will carry out actions necessary for people to live a better life.
