In the semifinals, Azerbaijani taekwondo fighter Milad Beigi Harchegani, competing in the weight category up to 80 kilograms among men, defeated Portuguese athlete Julio Ferreira with a score of 6:2.
In the 1/8 finals, the Azerbaijani athlete took a lead over his Serbian opponent Damir Fejzic in a 12:0 victory. In the quarterfinals, Harchegani came out victorious over British athlete Muhammed Lutalo with the score of 17:5.
Azerbaijani female taekwondo fighter Farida Azizova, acting in the weight category up to 67 kilograms, advanced to the final after defeating Swedish athlete Elin Johansson, 4:2.
In the 1/8 finals, the Azerbaijani athlete gained a victory over Joyce van Baaren from the Netherlands with a score of 2:0. In the quarterfinals, Azizova took a lead over Turkish athlete Nur Tatar with a score of 6:2.
Note that, on the first two days of the taekwondo competitions, Azerbaijani athletes Aykhan Taghizade (68kg) won a gold medal and Patimat Abakarova (49kg) - a bronze.
