Azerbaijani taekwondo fighter enters semifinals at Baku 2015

Baku – APA. Azerbaijani taekwondo fighter Radik Isayev (+80 kg) entered the semifinals of men’s competition as part of the first European Games in Baku June 19.

In the quarterfinals, the Azerbaijani athlete took a lead over Jeron Vanruiju from the Netherlands with a score of 8:6.

 

21-year-old Marina Tedeeva (+67 kg), representing Azerbaijan in women’s competitions, lost her first match against Ukrainian Marina Koniyeva with a score of 4:10. If Koniyeva advances to the final of the competition, the Azerbaijani athlete will have the right to compete for a bronze medal.

 

On the first two days of the taekwondo competitions, Azerbaijani athletes Aykhan Taghizade (68 kg) and Milad Beigi Harchegani (80 kg) won gold medals, Farida Azizova (67 kg) – a silver medal and Patimat Akbarova (49 kg) - a bronze medal.
