Some 1.6 million tons of wheat and 1.05 million tons of cotton are planned to be cultivated in Turkmenistan in 2016, the Turkmen government said Jan. 12.
As in previous years, some 760,000 hectares of land are planned to be allocated under wheat, while 545,000 hectares under cotton in Turkmenistan in 2016.
Turkmenistan cultivated over 1.406 million tons of grain and 1.1 million tons of cotton in 2015.
