A festive atmosphere is felt everywhere in Baku in connection with the first-ever European Games, the Russian fan Svetlana Kazak, who is watching the gymnastics competitions, told Trend.
“I came to Baku for the first time. It is a very beautiful city, with its history, beautiful architecture,” said Kazak. “There is very tasty national cuisine.”
She said there is a festive atmosphere literally everywhere.
“I just feel like merged with the mood of the city. Today, I came to watch the gymnastics events. It is a very beautiful sport, I really like it. The arena is very beautiful, it is new, all as it should be,” Kazak added.
The European Games that kicked off in Baku June 12, will last till June 28. There is a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports.
More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe came to Baku to represent their nations over 17 days of competition. Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
