Greetings from Director General of the Executive Committee of the Regional Commonwealth in the field of Communications Nurudin Mukhitdinov to the participants of the XXII International Telecommunications and Information Technologies Exhibition “Bakutel-2016”
Dear participants,
I would like to welcome you on behalf of the Executive Committee of the Regional Commonwealth in the field of Communications to this important event dedicated to the development of information and communication technologies in Azerbaijan.
Today, the level of development of ICTs and their widespread use plays a crucial role in enhancing the economic competitiveness of countries, increases the effectiveness of public administration and creates necessary conditions for the development of relations between the state and the business community.
Introduction of broadband internet, transition to digital television, application of the fourth generation mobile communication technologies and other innovation activities allow the Republic of Azerbaijan to take its rightful place in the global information infrastructure.
We are pleased to note that the ICT sector of Azerbaijan's economy is one of the most promising and dynamic sectors, and this was made possible thanks to the support of the country’s leadership, which identified the development of information and communication technologies as one of the priorities.
The exhibition and conference “Bakutel”, whose position is strengthening from year to year, has been, for many years, a major event and integral part of Azerbaijan’s telecommunications market.
The exhibition serves as a platform for the demonstration of all achievements of the telecommunications and information technology sector, presentation of progressive ideas and projects, sharing of views and opinions and conducting different level discussions, including discussions between communication administrations and businesses.
The exhibition and conference “Bakutel” is a very important event for specialists, experts and field professionals from many countries in terms of the establishment of new business relationships.
The active participation of the Communications Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan in international activities, including all activities of the Regional Commonwealth in the field of Communications, provides a significant contribution to our organization's activities. And this helps RCC members to support their joint initiatives at international forums and achieve the goals set by the World Summit on the Information Society.
One of the important events that will be held within the exhibition and conference “Bakutel” is a meeting of deputy ministers of communications, which will be held within the next meeting of the High-Level Working Group on the Development of the Information Society.
I am confident that the meeting of the High-Level Working Group on the Development of the Information Society will help to form our countries’ positions on the future development of the information society, as well as will give a new impetus to the development of ICT in the Republic of Azerbaijan and in the region as a whole.
I would like to express my gratitude to the Communications Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan for the efforts it makes to achieve the goals helping to create an open information society aimed at development of countries.
