Serbia wants Azerbaijan to be one of Serbia’s gas supplier, says Deputy PM

Rasim Ljajic has discussed Serbia’s joining Southern Gas Corridor at SOCAR and Energy Ministry

Baku - APA-Economics. “We are interested in Azerbaijan’s becoming one of the main gas suppliers to Serbia”, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications of the Republic of Serbia Rasim Ljajic said at the meeting with Minister of Economy and Industry Shahin Mustafayev.

 

According to him, Azerbaijani and Serbian companies will hold talks.

 

“Energy sphere is significant in cooperation between the two countries”, he added.

 

In turn, Mustafayev said that after Russia’s refusal of South Stream and problems occurred in Turkish Stream project, Serbia is considering to join the Southern Gas Corridor: “This issue will also be discussed at SOCAR and Ministry of Energy”.

 

Along with this, Mustafayev noted that the sides also intend to cooperate in renewable energy sphere.
