Chairman of Caucasus Muslims Office Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade has met Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and all Rus' on the sidelines of events celebrating the 70th anniversary of the head of the Russian Orthodox Church.
Patriarch Kirill of Moscow praised relations between the two countries. On Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the Patriarch hailed contributions of Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade preventing radicalization of the problem.
Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade conveyed greeting of President Ilham Aliyev to Patriarch Kirill of Moscow.
The Chairman stressed the importance of peaceful solving the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Mr. Pashazade highlighted the Azerbaijani government`s attention to the preservation of multicultural and religious values. “Orthodox Christians and Catholics, Jews and representatives of other confessions live in peace and tranquility in Azerbaijan along with Muslims. Azerbaijan is recognized as a country where respect for religious values is manifested at a state level.”
Azerbaijan`s Ambassador to Russia Polad Bulbuloglu read out the congratulatory letter of President Ilham Aliyev to Patriarch Kirill of Moscow.
