Baku, Azerbaijan, June 23

The First European Games in Baku is a fantastic event, Michaela Trnkova, a swimmer representing the Czech Republic at Baku 2015, told Trend June 23.
“It is really a huge performance and I really liked it,” she said.
Trnkova said that the swimming pool is beautiful and added that good conditions have been created in the Athletes Village.
The swimmer said she is not so pleased with her performance at the Games.
“It is because I did not train so hard like last year as I broke my arm. And I could not drift normally during my performance,” she said.
The Czech swimmer said she hasn’t had an opportunity to tour Baku yet. “Our coach is very strict and he wants us to focus on our competitions.”
The European Games kicked off June 12 and will last till June 28. There is a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports.
More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe came to Baku to represent their nations over 17 days of competition. Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
