Baku, Azerbaijan, April 6

By Khalid Kazimov - Trend:

Iranian Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Commission spokesman Hossein Naqavi Hosseini said that Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif answered a lot of questions the MPs had about the recent nuclear framework agreement between Iran and world powers.

Zarif had attended the Commission’s session the previous day to provide explanations about the agreement which Tehran and the group P5+1 (the US, UK, France, Russia, China, and Germany) made April 2 on Iran's nuclear program.

In this session, Zarif obviated many unclear points and made sure that there was no discrepancy between the texts he and EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini had read, Hosseini said, IRNA news agency reported April 6.

The US fact sheet, the complete removal of UN sanctions, as well as the commitments made by Iran and the other party were the other issues the foreign minister explained, according to the MP.

He pointed out that some MPs are worried that in the nuclear talks, there may be no balance between the privileges given and those taken by Iran.

“Nobody protests the negotiations on Iran's nuclear case or the mutual concessions and compromises related to the case because the only way to solve our nuclear case is negotiations,” Naqavi asserted.

Iran and the world powers are scheduled to reach a comprehensive deal on the case by July 1.

The deal would limit Iran's nuclear activities in order to ensure their peacefulness, and in return would remove the international sanctions on the Islamic Republic’s economy.
